What is Map My Mole?
Map My Mole is a professional skin lesion assessment service.
Using a specialist dermatoscope attached to a high-quality camera, we capture detailed magnified images of your mole or skin lesion.
These images, together with your medical history and information about the lesion, are securely sent to a consultant dermatologist for assessment.
In many cases, you’ll receive your report the very same day, although turnaround times may vary.
What can Map My Mole assess?

Once your report has been received, we’ll explain the findings and discuss any recommended next steps.
What happens if something needs further investigation?
If the consultant dermatologist recommends further assessment, we’ll explain exactly what to do next.
This may include arranging an appointment with your GP or an appropriate specialist.
Map My Mole does not replace your GP or hospital care, but it can provide rapid expert assessment and reassurance.
Cosmetic mole reduction at JEMS
If you’re considering cosmetic mole reduction, every mole must first receive medical clearance.
Many of our clients choose to use our Map My Mole service before treatment, giving both you and us confidence that cosmetic treatment is appropriate.
Only once medical clearance has been received will we discuss cosmetic mole reduction.
Questions Clients Ask Every Day
Is Map My Mole painful?
No. The appointment is completely non-invasive. No injections, cutting or treatment are involved. We simply take specialist photographs of the lesion.
How quickly will I receive my results?
Many reports are returned the same day, although this cannot be guaranteed and turnaround times may occasionally vary.
Does Map My Mole diagnose skin cancer?
Your images are reviewed by a consultant dermatologist who will provide an expert opinion and recommendations.
If further investigation is required, you’ll be advised on the appropriate next steps.
Can you remove my mole on the same day?
No. Every mole must first receive medical clearance before cosmetic treatment can be considered.
Is this only for moles?
No. Many different skin lesions can be assessed using Map My Mole. If you’re unsure what you’re looking at, this service can provide valuable reassurance.
